TYLER SPENCER GIVENS, affectionately known as Lil Flocka, “T”, and T-Dub was called home on September 8, 2013. Tyler was born on August 3, 1998 in Petersburg, VA. Tyler was the youngest of six siblings.
Tyler was preceded in death by Mrs. Exie Lundy (great-grandmother), Mrs. Julia Givens (great-grandmother), Mrs. Elva Lewis (great-grandmother), Mr. George Lewis (great-grandfather), Mr. John F. Williams (great-grandfather), Mr. Dexter Lewis (uncle), and Miss Evelyn Lewis (aunt).
Tyler accepted Christ as his saviour and joined New Hope Worship Center at an early age. Tyler attended both Greensville and Sussex County Public Schools. He was a member of the 2012 Football Team at Sussex Central High School and was looking forward to becoming a member of the 2013-2014 football team. Tyler enjoyed playing games on his PlayStation and playing the drums. On any given day you could find Tyler sitting in a room playing his game as quiet as can be. He was work so hard to beat those that challenged him on his PlayStation. Those that knew Tyler knows that he was “hard core” Lebron James fan. He was a devoted Basketball and Football fan and could provide you with the stats on any team player. Tyler frequently displayed a humbling spirit and looked forward to helping his grandmother, Cozell on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. He loved hanging with his cousin, “Lil Ronnie”, his friends Tyrik, Kalijan, and his “Stoney Creek” crew.
Tyler leaves behind his loving parents, Larry Givens of Sussex, VA and Vanessa Givens of Jarratt, VA; four brothers, Larry Lewis (Evelyn) and Marquis Lewis, both of Jarratt, VA, Roderick Jones of Greensboro, NC, Demetrius Lewis of Emporia, VA, one sister, Kelly Easter of Chesapeake, VA; great grandmother, Nellie Williams of Emporia, VA, devoted grandparents, Norfleet and Lucy Givens of Sussex, VA, Cozell Lewis of Emporia, VA; several uncles, Junius Lewis (Sandy) of Alexandria, VA, Ronald Lewis (Vanessa), George Lewis (Gina), Christopher Lewis all of Emporia, VA, James Lewis (Mary) of Baltimore, MD, Reginald Givens of Plantation, FL; several aunts, Michele Lewis of Petersburg, VA, Samaria Lewis of Hopewell, VA, Pamela Givens-Laws of Chesterfield, VA, Lynette Givens of Chesapeake, VA, Rosilyn Givens-Tennessee (Ronnie) of Chesapeake, VA; fourteen nieces and nephews, Zykira, Zoey, Zacharius, Jordan, Javion, Josiah, Amon, Miguel, Zykel, Zion, Olivia, and Asia, Kayden, Kamari; two Godmothers, Felecia Scott and Kimberly Hitchman, Godfather, Benjamin Tucker; Godsister, Ariel Hitchman; Godbrother, Tytus Felts; a special friend “like a brother”, Quinton Blow; a devoted great-aunt, Sandra Robinson, famous for cooking Tyler’s cheese and eggs, a devoted uncle that fulfilled Tyler’s request of 2 McDoubles, $1 fry, and a $1 sweet tea; a close friend, Keyon Rodgers; and a number of devoted cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Sussex Central High School 21394 Sussex Drive Sussex, Virginia 23884.Pastor Dwight Batts will be the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Family Cemetery.
