John Eddie Drummond son of Eddie and Mary Lee Drummond was born October 6, 1960 in Brunswick County, Virginia. John the youngest of two children quietly departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2013. John confessed Christ and joined White Rock A.M.E. Church and after marriage John joined Zion Union R.Z.U.A. Church. He enjoyed attending church with his family worshiping the Lord in his own quiet manner. In 1988, John was united in marriage to Barbara Denise Jarrett and to this union one child was born, Jasmine Symone Drummond.
John was known throughout Southside Virginia as a skilled heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. He worked for Shoesmith Brothers in Chester, Virginia where he mastered the craft of a certified heavy equipment operator.
Later John transitioned to a career in the healthcare field where he worked at Northview Adult Home in South Hill, Virginia. There he impacted the lives of the clients as well as his co-workers.
John was proud of his daughter’s accomplishments as a senior at North Carolina Central University and her gifted musical talents as a songstress and pianist.

Jarrett, Jr.(Patricia), Anthony L. Parrish, and Stevie L. Reynolds; 19 aunts and uncles, Webster Drummond of Pittsburg, PA, George Drummond of Alberta, VA, Monroe Drummond (Sally) of New Rochelle, NY, Wilbert Drummond (Barbara Ann) Jamaica, NY, Joseph Drummond (Flora) Jamaica, NY, Evelyn Drummond Graham of Pittsburg, PA, Calvin Graves of New York, NY, Wilbert T. Graves (Phyllis) of Alberta, VA, Leon Graves of Alberta, VA, Joyce Graves Simmons (Booker T.) of Richmond, VA, Mary Marble Hood of Richmond, VA, Pandora Moorman of Bowie, MD, Ophelia Graves of Richmond, VA, and Valerie Graves of Baltimore, MD; three nieces, Jamara Nelson of Chester, VA and Charmaine Taylor Anderson and Keidra Rosser of Lawrenceville, VA; five nephews, Paul Nelson Jr. of Dinwiddie, VA, Arthur Jarrett, III of Richmond, VA, Jerard Jarrett of Chesterfield, VA, Lionel Parrish of Fredericksburg, VA, Monty Stigall and Stevie L. Reynolds, Jr. both of Lawrenceville, VA; 3 great-nephews and 1 great-niece and host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Zion Union R.Z.U.A at 1:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Alvera Jarrett Parrish will be the Eulogist. Interment will follow in The Drummond Family Cemetery in Alberta, Virginia.
